Title Sequence Task

The title sequence for the film "Catch me if you can" uses animation to show scenes that appear throughout the actual film but it uses less information and detail so that the opening sequence won't give so much away that the audience won't want to watch the rest of the film. This is a clever use of title sequence as it may make the audience become intruiged and interested by the opening sequence and this could lead to them wanting to continue watching the film.

There is a clever use of titles appearing throughout the opening sequence. The name of the director appears at the start of this title sequence which is unusual as most of the time, the directors name appears towards the end of the title sequence. The directors name does however appear at the end as well as the start. The actors names also appear early on in the sequence with the main characters and more important characters appearing first like Leonardo Di Caprio and Tom Hanks for example. This is due to the fact these actors are highly established and successful so by showing their names first the director is increasing the likelihood of people wanting to watch the film knowing that the actors are very well known and are very good and clever in their job.
